Course overview and goals

To train advanced engineers who can handle management in industries that form the social infrastructure, this course covers everything from basic courses on accounting, management of technology, and decision-making theory to corporate finance, intellectual property management, project management, etc., including examples.
Students will learn how advanced technology from each specialty is leveraged in the foundations of management and economics, and learn management useful for international strategy that leverages different technologies.

Course description and aims

Students in this course will learn basic knowledge in different fields such as accounting, patents, management of technology theory, and international project management. They will also learn the role of these fields in industrial society, and the know-how necessary for engaging in social activities that utilize science and technology. Students will also learn the nature of social organizations that form the basis of these activities, the nature of decision making, and skills to guide forward specific strategies for each case study and possible issues, how to comprehensively utilize these skills, and hone the logic skills for better leveraging one's own expertise in the real world.
