Syllabus

Course overview and goals

Students read literature related to their own research projects, and introduce the contents to others in their laboratories. Students also present the progress of their research projects. On the other hand, they listen to literature introduction and presentation on research projects by others in the laboratories, and discuss the contents with them.

This course aims at helping students obtain the competency to read and understand literature written in English, and to present and discuss the contents to and with others in the laboratories. Presentation of and discussion on the progress of the students' own research projects are also covered in this course.

Course description and aims

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. read and understand literature written in English, and critically discuss the contents with others.
2. understand and discuss the contents of literature introduced by others.
3. present the background, aims, results, and discussion of their own research projects.
4. understand and discuss others' presentation on their research projects.
