Course overview and goals

Particle beams are quite useful to investigate properties of solid. In particular, local or microscopic state of solid can be investigated by implantation of several kinds of particle. This course aims to give knowledge of particle beam experiment as a probe of microscopic properties of materials.

Course description and aims

This course covers the experiments by using particle beams such as muon, positron, unstable nuclei. Students are expected to understand material research by using several kinds of particle beam and properties of solid from microscopic point of view.

Keywords

particle beam, microscopic property of solid, magnetism, superconductivity, muon, positron, unstable nuclei
