The number of students wishing to take this course exceeded the class capacity during the pre-registration period. Therefore, we cannot accept students who were not given permission as a result of the lottery or who did not participate in the pre-registration at all.
We do accept registration by new students (enrolled in September 2020) till the end of the course registration period (till October 19.) However, if the number of students registered exceeds the capacity by the end of the period, a lottery will take place. We will perform the procedure for deleting the registration by students who did not win the lottery after October 20.

This course is designed for students to understand the outline of economy and society, even without preliminary knowledge. The course contains basic knowledge to be familiar with finance and economy, and viewpoints required to consider corporate activities. The lecturer will explain broad pictures and recent trends of topics in each class, as shown below.

This course aims to develop ability of each student to be more successful in the real world with wide range of knowledge and views regarding economy and society.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Assessment will be based on attendance and contribution to classes (60%), and report at the end of the course (40%).

If you are absent from a class, regardless of the reason, points are subtracted from the evaluation portion of the "attendance and contribution to classes."
There are no make-up assignments.

Details of the requirements of the report will be explained in the first class meeting.
