授業の目的（ねらい）、概要
TOEFLのReadingとWritingの各セクションの試験形式・内容に留意しつつ、英語力を向上させる。
TOEFLのReading SectionおよびWriting セクションの得点を向上させると共に、英語圏の大学で教育を受けるのに必要な英語力を身につけることを目指す。
到達目標
この授業科目は、次のような知識や能力を身につけることを目指す。
・ReadingおよWriting セクションを中心にTOEFLテストがどのようなもので、好成績を残すにはどのように取り組めば良いかを理解する。
・学問分野における英語の知識を広げると共に、英語の全般的なreadingとwritingの力を身につける。

授業の進め方
This course is designed to help students develop reading and writing skills that are applicable to the TOEFL iBT test. Each week, we will explore a different issue using readings, audio lectures, and discussion. Though the main focus on the course is on reading and writing, there will also be some exercises on listening to prepare you for the integrated skills section of TOEFL.
