授業の目的（ねらい）、概要

すべての「英語スピーキング演習」の科目は、その名のとおり、学生の話す力を伸ばすことを目標としている。発表以外の場においては、効果的に話すためには効果的に聞くことも必要となることから、これらの科目の授業や宿題においては、互いに話し合う練習やきちんと聞く練習を行う。
２００番台の選択科目である「英語スピーキング演習第六」は、特に、２人の話者の間で聞き話すことを通じて効果的な口頭によるコミュニケーションを行うことを目指し、「英語スピーキング演習第五」の題材を広げていく。また、教科書や授業で導入された単語や文法が使えるようにすることも、授業のねらいのひとつである。

到達目標

この授業科目を履修することにより、学生は、それまでに会ったことのない人との１対１の会話において、自信を持って、社会や異文化に関するかなり複雑なトピックについてより広範にわたって話すために必要な新たな単語や句を身につけることができる。

授業の進め方

This is designed to be a very student centered/interactive class with students discussing and debating various topics. New vocabulary and grammar will be routinely introduced to enable students to articulate ideas more clearly and to facilitate discussion.
