Syllabus
Course overview and goals
Mainly through exercises, how to proceed with research, survey research literature, read research papers, and make presentation will be learned.
This course is mainly designed for students majored in Management of Technology who have no research experience. First, students are expected to learn what research is, and then they will gain some skills required for research including the critical reading skill.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. understand and explain what research is
2. conduct research literature survey
3. read research papers critically
4. make an effective presentation

Class flow
Lectures will be carried out interactively. Also two in-class exercises will be conducted, and a group work and a presentation will be required for students. This course is taught in Japanese.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

There is a limitation to the number of registration (see Misc. for more).

This course requires heavy discussion and group work in Japanese; therefore, the number of students who can register to the course is limited to 25 students. The priority of registration will be given to the 2nd year MOT students, the 1st year MOT students, Innovation Science students, other course Tokyo Tech students, and any other students in this order.
