Course overview and goals

This class aims to learn the skills of measurement and/or data processing, and to develop the ability of grasping physical phenomena/concepts through the transdisciplinary fields.

Course description and aims

Students will acquire the following abilities;
(1) Be able to understand the speed of enzymatic reaction the kinetics
(2) Be able to measure the phase equilibrium and interpret the results
(3) Be able to understand the mechanism, signal detection and control for basis of control function
(4) Be able to understand the fundamentals of wireless communication

Keywords

Enzymatic reaction: phase equilibrium: control of actuator: fundamentals of wireless communication

Competencies

  • Specialist skills
  • Intercultural skills
  • Communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

Four different experiments are provided in each professor’s laboratory. Students are divided into four groups and each group will conduct one of the experiment every week. One group is conducted in English while others are Japanese. The preparation for this class or experiment is checked in a preliminary test, and if it is insufficient, the student cannot join the experiment. After experiment, students can deepen their understanding of each themes by the following oral examination. Finally, students shall submit the report for summary.
