Course overview and goals

This course provides lectures on state-of-the-art topics by faculty members invited from overseas universities.

This course will cover topics on image processing and remote sensing, providing basic and advanced knowledge on image analysis (from low-level processing to automatic image interpretation), imaging sensors, non-conventional imaging systems (hyperspectral and active imagery), machine and deep learning applied to image interpretation and image fusion.
Examples of real applications for Earth monitoring will be presented during the course.

Course description and aims

Students should be able to understand basic and advanced knowledge on Image processing with applications on remote sensing images. Students will have a grasp on the physical motivation and interpretation behind the presented approaches.
