Course overview and goals
[Description]
In this course, the instructor covers various characteristics of materials from a microscopic and macroscopic point of view.
Specifically, the instructor lectures on the evaluation method of material characteristics, the material-strength, crystal structure, dislocation, equilibrium phase diagram, and characteristics and applications of practical steels, non-ferrous materials, and non-metal-materials.
[Aim]
Understanding the basic nature of necessary materials when manufacturing a machine and a building is indispensable.
Choosing materials based on knowledge about material characteristics is necessary in designing machines.
The aim of this course is to have students obtain fundamental knowledge of materials which are necessary for mechanical engineers.
Course description and aims
